Etna for cruise ship passengers: Reviews 1898
My friends and I went on a half-day tour, and we really enjoyed it! We had a really cool and fun guide named Marco. We visited a cave, walked around the base of the volcano, saw some really beautiful views and the forest, walked across solidified magma, and after that, we were taken to a reasonably priced café right in the forest. Afterward, they also drove us back home. For the price, this tour turned out to be a very pleasant and comfortable experience.
What a fantastic experience , we went on a half day 4x4 trip , we were picked up from our hotel and taken to a meeting point . We were then introduced to our guide , all guides are friendly and very professional. The trip then took us to a viewing point where you are told about the history of mount etna and get an opportunity to take photographs. The next part of the trip involved a visit to the lava cave , a very pleasant relief from the heat . We also met a lovely man selling local honey products .They then take you further up Mount Etna where we went on a easy hike to old lava fields and fantastic viewing points . We experienced this on a day Mount Etna was actively erupting! , we were very lucky to experience this . Following the hike we were then taken to a lovely pine forest where you have the opportunity to buy a drink and snacks .....the full day experience guests were provided their lunch . From there we were taken back to our hotel . The day we went the weather was perfect and warm . Its advised to take a light jacket as the wind can be changeable and walking boots or trainers are a must. This company are very welcoming and very professional , the guides are friendly and very knowledgeable.....we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend the experiences that they offer . There were many nationalities on this trip and the guides speak many languages . There is a viewing observatory further up mount Etna ..but due to the eruption we were not permitted to go there , but if safe I think it would have been a added experience. Loved our half day and highly recommend .
The best Sicily experience.
We did a jeep/4x4 tour of Etna with Go Etna and it was a highlight of our trip. Our guide Marcus was fantastic — knowledgeable, patient with our kids' endless questions, and clearly passionate about the volcano. There's a trek to reach the craters, but it was genuinely enjoyable, and Marcus made it easy and engaging the whole way. Highly recommend!!
Excellent half-day tour of Mount Etna with very competent and friendly guides. Suitable for kids – our 5-year-old loved it.
