During this shore excursion for cruise ship passengers you will have the perfect mix of an adventurous Jeep experience and the Sicilian culture. Discover one of the most active volcanoes in the world with our Etna Jeep Tour. We will pick you up at the Port of Catania with one of our off-road vehicles (including the popular Land Rover 110) and heading in the direction of the volcano.

We are passing idyllic Sicilian villages and some of Sicily’s most famous wine-growing regions and whilst gaining altitude, you will learn a lot about the country, the population and their culture. You will certainly remember the impressive play of colours of the black lava and the extraordinary vegetation on Mount Etna. As we pass by the lava flows of recent years, we will see centuries-old forests and we will stop at some of the most beautiful places on Mount Etna. During an easy hike of approx. 45 min. on the craters in the surrounding, you will see the unique landscape with the old and new lava.

Of course, a competent English-speaking guide will accompany you during this guided trip on Mount Etna and you will learn a lot about the history of the volcano with its myths and the current situation there. You will continue the adventurous jeep tour on an off-road track through the pine forests and you will get further insight into the unique and diverse flora and fauna which inhabits the lava rocks.

Like the speleologists, you will be equipped with helmets and flashlights to explore one of the famous lava caves on foot with your guide. These caves were created by a lava flow and they still have special properties. Centuries ago, residents close to Mount Etna used these caves for the ice production.

As the last stop of the half-day tour we will drive to the hardened lava flows, which destroyed the local ski lift during the last big eruption.

After all these unforgettable impressions we will return to your cruise in Catania.

Yesterday I went to the Etna and I had a great day. Sebastiaan picked me up at my accommodation and he is really a great guy. He told me and taught me so much about Mount Etna and all sorts of things about Sicily. He is a really great guy and I want to thank him very much for that. The organization by go-et a was really top-notch. The guides were all super friendly and explained everything very well. It was well organized; it was a really cool day and a true experience. Next year I am definitely going to the top of Mount Etna And of course with Go-Etna again.

Taking the guided tour to Mount Etna was the best decision we made during our trip. In one day, we visited a lava cave, explored Etna National Park, saw several craters of Mount Etna, and visited the Alcantara Gorges.

We would especially like to thank our guides Francesco, Marco, and Vincenzo for their amazing attitude and positive energy throughout the entire excursion. They were friendly, funny, and made everyone feel welcome. They shared interesting information, joked with us, and gave personal attention to every participant, making the whole experience even more enjoyable.

Our guide Francesco made our tour. He was kind, knowledable and fun. 10/10! Regards the tour is was very good and my family enjoyed the day but I felt we didnt really go up very high towards the top. Perhaps that is on a more extreme tour as ours was the easier tour. The Trek was the best part and all the guides were excellent. Thanks again Francesco.

We only did the half day tour but what a special place! We were lucky enough to be present while Etna was erupting (nothing too dangerous at the time) and so got some spectacular views and atmosphere.

The guides (Francesco, Marco, and Vincenzo) were impeccable. Their knowledge excellent, communication skills first rate, and wonderfully personable. This is clearly something they all have a significant passion for and it is very infectious.

I so highly recommend doing this tour to anyone and everyone. The whole organisation was excellent and the day will long be a wonderful memory.
