The tour was fantastic! We enjoyed the very interesting landscape, the craters, the view and of course the walk itself. Our guide definitely deserves a top rating as well.

We went up on the 2nd June. Nice trip up, the All-Terrain bus going over the lava field road is quite bouncy. Wouldn't advise if you have a weak stomach. Toddled up to the geophysical station - we couldn't go up to any of the main peaks as one was going off quite impressively and the prevailing wind was blowing the debris over the other three. Oh well. So we were resigned to a rather quiet time looking at the spectacle from a mile and a half away. And then it blew out in our direction. Proper pyroclastic flow, clouds and clouds of debris, utter volcanic mayhem. We had to run for it, straight downhill and away. It was brilliant. I mean, kind of perilous but brilliant.
One of the best things I've ever done. Highlight of my week in Sicily.

We booked a Mount Etna excursion with Go-Etna. When we arrived at base camp, the volcano was clearly active. The guides explained right away that the summit hike wasn’t safe, we would do an alternative route. While that was a bit disappointing, their calm and honest approach reassured us.
The 4x4 ride up ModEtna (Mount Etna) was rough but fun. Up close, Etna was roaring loud, alive, and unpredictable. What stood out was how genuinely excited our guides were. You could tell they loved what they were doing. They were just as thrilled by Etna’s activity as we were, and that made the experience even better.
our guide shared great insights about the volcano, local history, and nature. We asked lots of questions, and she clearly knew her stuff.
Then Etna suddenly erupted, loud and fast. Without shouting or panic, the guides acted shouted: "Pack it up and run". Three of our guides ran down the slope, and we followed. The last two stayed to guide the group safely down. This was their trained protocol, and it worked smoothly.
Once safe, we learned it was one of Etna’s biggest eruptions since 2014.
It was more than we expected, but in the best possible way. The Go-Etna team handled it all with care, skill, and passion. We felt safe the entire time, and it turned into an unforgettable day.
Highly recommended.
