Walk to highest viewpoint on Etna

Join the “ Rifugio Sapienza Etna” , passing by the small towns of Pedara and Nicolosi, through old lava field sitting in a comfortable limousine ( 1 to 4 people ) or a Mini vane ( until 8 people ). Here you will have the possibility to climb and visit the “Silvestri craters” and to reach height 9580 feet using the cableway or special vehicles.

To reach height 8200 feet by cableway and to continue climb with jeep until height 9580 feet its optional.

From “Rifugio Sapienza” 6300 feet above the sea level you will reach height 8200 feet with the cableway until the view point “la Montagnola”. From here special off-roads supplied jeeps will bring you to the Torre del Filosofo” at the height of 9580 feet. Competent guides will accompany you during a 40 minutes tour, visiting the new crater born after the eruption from 2001-2002. In case of eruptions phenomena you will have the chance to see the lava flows.

Whole tour lasts about 2 hours and 30 minutes.
